Cartagena, Colombia
The CAF-AM Ashmore II Senior Infrastructure Debt Fund has extended financing with a commitment of COP 300 billion to support the modernisation and expansion of Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena, contributing to the development of a key airport infrastructure asset for Colombia’s connectivity and strengthening one of the country’s most important tourist and industrial destinations.
The fund, with a commitment of COP 300 billion, alongside Banco Davivienda S.A., Itaú Colombia S.A., and Fondo de Capital Privado Bonus – Compartimento Infraestructura II, participated in a syndicated loan totaling COP 887 billion for this strategic project in the Caribbean region.
“The financing provided by the fund, for a project developed by a sponsor of the caliber of Termotécnica Coindustrial, will further enhance connectivity and support the continued development of this strategic destination.” Said Álvaro Manotas Artúz, C.E.O. of Ashmore CAF-AM. “CAF-AM Ashmore II is proud to support projects that strengthen regional infrastructure, promote economic growth, and enhance Colombia’s global connectivity," added Manotas Artúz.
