Our history
We were one of the first investment management firms to offer investors direct access to a broad group of emerging economies and today we continue to innovate. The launch of Ashmore Investment Management Indonesia (AAMI) in 2012 was an important step in this development. We pioneered investment in Emerging Markets at a time when the so-called ‘Third World’ countries were considered by many to be unusual and risky. We believed strongly then in the potential of ‘Emerging’ Markets and we continue to believe in their importance as a major asset class.
