The drivers of this were net redemptions of US$0.8 billion caused by rebalancing in the context of an uncertain global outlook. This was particularly visible in the Equity theme where certain accounts reduced their overall allocation and there was reweighting within internally managed multi strategy products from equities to local currency. The ongoing process of clients being provided with the opportunity to diversify investment themes continues to be reflected in the make-up of AuM, particularly in steady growth in the Local Currency theme, including some switching from Dollar Debt. Meanwhile, investment performance for the third quarter was a positive US$0.6 billion. The Group's strategy remains consistent; deliver long term investment outperformance; generate and diversify net management fee income through the attraction of net subscriptions across investment themes; and develop the Ashmore brand and business model. Trading conditions are in line with management expectations and the Group remains confident of its prospects for the current year.
